#EXTERNAL PLAYER KODI TV#
The eternal TV app/addon has more than 2000 live TV channels from all over the world and is a good complement to other solutions like cCloud, Live NetTV, and Terrarium. Also, good idea to post this on the Plex forums, hopefully it will light a fire under the butts of the devs (as a fellow dev, I say that with the upmost respect!). The Eternal TV App/Kodi Addon is a great place for getting all your favorite TV channels. Thanks for testing and confirming this works, djbuddha. I was going to wait until Plex officially released a supported update, but if i can use one of my plex clients now then I may have to set this up. However one problem is that of course as soon as you pass control to an external player if you want to pause etc I have to resort to using a keyboard.
#EXTERNAL PLAYER KODI APK#
To make this APK the default player on Kodi, it's in the thread, but here's what I did to my playercorefactory.xml file (after ) I currently use KODI with the Chowsoft driver, and am experimenting with using external video players (specifically MPC with using MADVR to do HDR Tone Mapping). This is super-awesome, it means it's possible (will post this on the Plex forum on their Dolby Vision thread for the shield). and videos present on external storage devices, for example, USB flash drives. Proof that Dolby Atmos is running (I hear it, but the receiver shows it as you'll see in the video). If youre someone looking for a different multimedia player for Ubuntu. Proof that DV is triggered and not faked (bottom left corner using a Vertex 2 showing LLDV running vs running a non-LLDV file)
#EXTERNAL PLAYER KODI HOW TO#
How to fix the sync issue if you fall out of sync when the movie starts (in my testing, this quick method maintains sync throughout the playback) How to do it (after altering the playcorefactory.xml file for Kodi, it's easier than you think) It's FAR from perfect, but I made video showing the following with the 2019 Shield No core should be downloaded as the video player is baked in 9:54 pm PLEX RUNNING DOLBY VISION AND ATMOS VIA KODI USING THE NEW APK FROM THIS THREAD:
I set my Retroarch a TV overlay and the Crt Geom shader, nothing else. It’s important to have a Retroarch specific installation, apart from the one you may use for emulation, in this case I have Retroarch under C:\Program Files (x86)\Retroarch\Retroarch.exeĪlso, preset your Retroarch overlays and shaders beforehand, so everything will be ready when using Kodi. Note, in this preset, the playercorefactory file will set Retroarch as primary player for 4x3 videos, i.e., if you create a folder that has “4x3” in its name, like “Movies - 4x3” etc., Kodi will call Retroarch to play the video, you can also just set 4x3 in the video file name itself like “Movie 4x3.mkv” that it will work either way.
In this folder you should create a file called playercorefactory.xml, this file contains settings that will tell Kodi that there is/are other players and how to manage them.Ĭ:\Program Files (x86)\Retroarch\retroarch.exe You can just press ctrl+r and paste %appdata%, it will open your appdata/roaming folder, there Kodi should be located, inside Kodi’s folder open userdata folder. To add Retroarch in Kodi as an external player, locate Kodi’s installation folder.
